My Spin

(Just my opinion. Give us yours!)
Even those who don't consider themselves Elvis fans tend to rank "Can't Help Falling In Love" as one of the all-time great love songs. The undeniable hook of the melody, the gentle instrumentation, and the lyrics of pure surrender sung by an Elvis at his early-1960s finest, all come together to make the perfect romantic ballad. Later, it became the closing anthem of his '70s live shows, his farewell to fans before "leaving the building".

I'll write more. Browse the other stuff below in the meantime.

Other Spins

(What did the critics and fans say?)

"...the melody is another classical theme, the 'Plaisir d'Amour' by Martini (Il Tedesco). This is sung with very good breath control by Presley: the breaks in the vocal line are natural and effective."

Robert Matthew-Walker, Elvis Presley: A Study in Music, 1979

One of Elvis' greatest all-time love songs, rendered in his sexiest low register - a song originally recorded for Blue Hawaii...Eventually it became the finale of his road shows, after which he would make his exit.

The Complete Elvis, edited by Martin Torgoff, 1982

"Can't Help Falling In Love" Lyrics and Downloads

Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you
Shall I stay
Would it be a sin
If I can't help falling in love with you

Like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you

Like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you
For I can't help falling in love with you
