My Spin

(Just my opinion. Give us yours!)

I've never been one of those fans that moans about Elvis missing a chance to have another hit. After all, he had more than his share of hits in his 23 years of glory. Then there are songs like "I've Got a Thing About You Baby" that just make you scratch your head and wonder why they weren't bigger hits! Elvis certainly does a fine job with this infectious Tony Joe White shuffle, and the Stax Studios musicians ain't slackin' none. The only complaint I have is that, at less than two and a half minutes, it's all over way too soon!

More to come later, meanwhile, check out the music and links!

Other Spins

(What did the critics and fans say?)

"I've Got a Thing About You Baby" shows the influence of the Stax Studios. This unpretentious song gets a suitably gentle performance. At first, it appears ordinary, but soon the magic begins to work.

Commercial tune by one of Elvis' favorite C&W songsmiths.

"I've Got a Thing About You Baby" Lyrics and Downloads

I've got something to tell you
That I think you ought to know
That my eyes are on you baby
Since a long time ago
And now I fin'ly got the nerve
And I'm gonna make my move
Now don't you try to turn me off
Cause it's gonna be hard to do

I've got a thing about you baby
Ain't nothing I can do
I've got a thing about you baby
A thing about lovin' you

Ain't it just like a woman
When she knows she's got a man
She'll wring you out and turn you 'bout
In the palm of her hand
And then she starts to thinkin'
Then maybe she's put you in a blind
She'll give you just a little lovin'
It'll drive you out of your mind

I've got a thing about you baby
Ain't nothing you can do
I've got a thing about you baby
A thing about lovin' you
