"Memories" served as the ballad to end the informal jam section of Elvis' 68 Comeback Special, as he took a seat between a couple of young ladies. Elvis does a fine job on this beautiful melody for the studio recorded version (the "live" versions being a little off). "Memories" has since become one of those songs that is more well-known now (even by non-Elvis-fans) than it was during Elvis' lifetime. This one certainly deserves to be on the short list of Elvis' finest ballads.
