The ballad "Where Do You Come From" is a good choice for the B-side to one of Elvis' greatest pop tunes "Return to Sender". Songwriters Ruth Batchelor and Bob Roberts cranked out a mixed bag of both forgettable film tunes for Elvis, and decent ballads. Like a few of the other recordings on this soundtrack, Elvis and the musicians take mediocre material and elevate it to a respectable performance. "Where Do You Come From" isn't a classic but it holds up. |
Other Spins(What did the critics and fans say?)A slow, swooning ballad about a mystical girl. Elvis eats these songs up. Where do you come from Tell me who you are Do you come from another world Or from some distant star Where do you come from Are you what you seem Are you real, are you standing there Or is it just a dream Tell me more about yourself Do you feel the way I feel Are you just a vision Or are you really real Where do you come from Angel won't you say Tell me all that there is to know And tell me that you'll stay |
