"Please Don't Stop Loving Me" was a love song Elvis sang to Donna Douglas in Frankie And Johnny. Typical of Elvis' soundtrack ballads, Elvis performs it well enough, but the mix has his vocals way up and all other vocals and instruments way back, giving the overall impression of a rehearsal version rather than a final take. Another example of the lack of care with the soundtracks. Too bad, since it's an attractive little tune. More to come later, meanwhile, check out the music and links! |
