"Kiss Me Quick" may not have been everyone's first choice to lead off the Pot Luck album in 1962. An uptempo pop-rock tune, with Latin-sounding elements, it's much more closely related to "It's Now or Never" than it is to rock 'n' roll. Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman have written tougher rock songs, but as European-style pop, this is certainly solid enough, and Elvis gives it a good go, alternating between light crooning and heavy-duty projection, which fits the song like a glove.
